Saturday Video Round Up: Feb 19 – 25

Hey, look! Saturday is here and that means the Round Up is here to (hopefully) entertain and delight you. For those new here, the Video Round Up collects the best trailers and gameplay videos from the past week and puts them all here for your viewing pleasure. There’s a lot to get to this week, so here’s just a small sampling of what is waiting for you after the jump.

It was a big week for BioWare as a number of Mass Effect Andromeda videos came out and for myself, increasing the hype meter considerably. The first video shows off more single player gameplay, along with how the upgrade and skill tree process works this time around. A second video introduces us the Lexi T’Perro, the chief medic and the first person players will meet. Lastly, a third video which dropped on Friday has security chief, Liam Costa, discussing weapon training.

Sony’s first major AAA title for 2017 Horizon Zero Dawn finally launches next week and a handful of new trailers also arrived showing off more of the gorgeous open world, combat, and exploration players will be taking part in.

I’ve also got new videos for Nier: Automata, Injustice 2, Nintendo Switch and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

Three Unique and Upcoming Switch Titles

With the release of Nintendo’s Switch now less than a month away, I’ve been spending an increasing amount of time looking up what kind of games we’ll have to look forward to.  As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t plan on buying the Switch at launch, but a Duck can still dream, right?  And for all of those out there who will be proud Switch-owners in the near future, here’s a little assistance in the form of three intriguing, but lesser-known, Switch releases.  That means no Zelda, Mario, or Yooka-Laylee! Saturday Video Round Up: February 12 – 18

Saturday is back once again and along with it comes a brand new edition of the Video Round Up. It’s back to bring you the best trailers and videos from the past week, so without further delay, let’s get into it, shall we?

It was a big week for Injustice 2 as the upcoming DC Comics fighting game introduced a bunch of fighters to its expansive roster of heroes and villains. Swamp Thing made his debut, followed by another trailer showing off four femme fatales with Black Canary, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Cheetah.

After much success with their Wii U season pass experiment for first party games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, and Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo has revealed that they’re doing another season pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While many of you may be worrying that Zelda has always been a complete experience on day one, it appears that Nintendo is not planning on cutting out content and reselling it. Based on the limited information, the post-launch content appears to be additional, and optional content.

I’ve also got new videos for Nier: Automata, Sea of Theaves, Horizon Zero Dawn and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

Saturday Video Round Up: February 5 – 11

Welcome back to another brand new edition of the Saturday Video Round Up! For those of you new here, this is the weekly series bringing you the best trailers and gameplay videos from around the gaming industry. Here’s a small taste of what’s waiting for you below the jump.

Well gang, it’s a Ubisoft kind of week here on the Round Up and frankly, this shouldn’t be surprising. Rainbow Six Siege just launched it’s first expansion of season 2, For Honor arrives next week, and Ghost Recon Wildlands is also right around the corner. If you’re looking forward to any of those games or perhaps a reason to get excited, check out the variety of Ubisoft-flavored trailers below. You have quite the selection this week.

For you Nintendo fans, the house of Mario released a new trailer focusing on the hardware side of the upcoming console. Take a look, perhaps new details are waiting for you inside this in-depth look.

I’ve also got new videos for Street Fighter V, Dark Souls III, Final Fantasy XV and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

Saturday Video Round Up: January 29 – February 4

Welcome back to another brand new edition of the Saturday Video Round Up! For those of you new here, this is the weekly series bringing you the best trailers and gameplay videos from around the gaming industry. Here’s a small taste of what’s waiting for you below the jump.

Ubisoft has been on a roll lately with betas. Last weekend saw another For Honor closed test and this week has Ghost Recon Wildlands in the spotlight for another non-NDA closed beta test. For those of you wanting to see more from the game, Ubisoft released a new 4 player co-op gameplay trailer, showing off what sort of chaos players can find in this massive world.

Since we’re now in February, Sony is preparing to launch their first major exclusive title,  Horizon: Zero Dawn, at the end of the month. While a lot has already been said, a new behind the scenes video is out in the wild, giving fans another taste of the new world Guerrilla Games has created.

I’ve also got new videos for Titanfall 2, For Honor, Resident Evil VII biohazard and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

Saturday Video Round Up: January 22 – 28

Saturday has once again reared its head and that means a brand new edition of the Round Up is here as well. Studios appear to be back into the swing of things after a holiday break and there are a lot of trailers and videos to get to. Here’s a small taste of what’s waiting below the break.

For me, one of the most exciting reveals this past week came from BioWare as they unleashed the second cinematic trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda. In it, we get a good look at what appears to be the primary antagonist for the Pathfinder crew. Not to be out done, a second trailer was also released focusing on the ark ship Hyperion. What’s great here is that the trailer reveals more of the trusty crew the Ryder twins will come across through their adventure.

The marketing blitz for Ghost Recon Wildlands has clearly begun as Ubisoft pushed out three brand new trailers for the game. The first focuses on the level of customization and freedom players have in the world, while the second actually shows off just how open the game really is. If you’re fired up and can’t wait for the game, the third trailer shows off a bonus mission for putting down some cash on the game early.

I’ve also got new videos for Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Resident Evil VII biohazard and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

A Brief Look at the Switch’s Stats

In case you weren’t already aware…the Nintendo Switch is almost upon us!  Nintendo recently released some additional information on the Switch, and even though this information is already readily available online, let me summarize a little bit of what I learned here for you.  First of all, the console’s release date is scheduled for March 3, a date which has another significance that I will cover soon.  That’s pretty exciting, I must say, as I was not expecting it to be available until at least summer.  And at about $300 (at least, for those of us in the US; the Switch’s Wikipedia article lists prices for other parts of the world, as well), that seems to be a pretty reasonable price considering the Switch’s console/handheld abilities.  But keep in mind that there may be some hidden costs….
