Voluntine’s Week is Next Week

Voluntine’s Week is almost among us, folks!

  • What: A set-aside week where bloggers and fans volunteer articles to be published as Guest Posts on their favorite blogs
  • When: February 17th, 2014 to February 21st, 2014
  • Where: #Voluntines on Twitter

I am getting super excited. I have already authored a handful of articles and began making the proper contacts with the blogs I hope they’ll appear. I have even seen a few submissions to my own already.

I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone, as well as check in. Also, to share a few tips and reminders.

TIP: Don’t wait until the last minute to contact someone. You never know when someone will be out of town or distracted, so even if it just a paragraph or idea, go ahead and start making contacts.

RECOMMENDATION: Direct Messages on Twitter work great. Assuming you are already following one another, using Twitter to establish your contact works great.

TIP: Be prepared to do some promoting. I’ll do my best to help out all the posts I see, but the more reblogs and retweets we can get, the better. Even if you aren’t directly participating, sharing some posts would be really helpful if you have the time!

RECOMMENDATION: Add the #Voluntines tag to your blog post and tweets. This’ll make it easier for me and others to see your posts, and it’ll help get the word out.

I am really excited about this holiday. I hope you all are too. If you have a moment, share your own experiences thus far as well as suggestions in the comments below. And don’t forget to share this post or the original Voluntines post if you can!

Oh, and don’t forget to follow United We Game and me (Murf!) on Twitter.
