Saturday Video Round Up: March 5 – 11

Even though I’m in Boston for the annual Penny Arcade Expo aka PAX East this weekend, I’m not going to leave you guys hanging without something to do. I mean, it is Saturday after all. So as usual, here are the best and brightest videos from the past week.

The headliner this week, for me anyway, is the 16 minute gameplay walkthrough for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. I was an big fan of the first game and it looks like the team has cranked up the epicness to 100 this time around. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the game at E3 this year.

It’s crazy to think, but we’re now a little over a week away from the next Mass Effect game, and I couldn’t be more excited. If you need another bump to the hype meter, the launch trailer has finally arrived and it features all the space shootin’ goodness that you’d expect to see.

I’ve also got new videos for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Injustice 2, Quake Champions and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

#Listmas: 7 Great RPG Palette Cleansers

You’re not just not really feeling it anymore; even though you know that you absolutely should. Well if that’s the case, then perhaps what you need is a palette cleanser.  Continue reading #Listmas: 7 Great RPG Palette Cleansers

Nostalgia and Crash Bandicoot

Nostalgia can be a funny thing sometimes. Sometimes it keeps us from seeing a old favorite’s shortcomings, but other times…other times it can do the opposite. It’s effect of making us simply accept everything in an old game can also blind us towards the nature of its strengths, and even that which sets it apart from the new. Nostalgia discourages questioning, which is exactly what we need to do if we’re to appreciate a favorite for everything that it is, as well as everything that it does. Merry Listmas everyone! The Christmas season may be over now, but Listmas will still be with us for three more wondrously list-filled days! As it is the height of winter and the end of the year, I couldn’t help but think about all the snow levels I’ve played over the years. Ice puzzles, blizzards, killer snowmen…these levels have it all, and the following are some of my favorites!
