Gaming Humiliation: The Massage Mini Game in “FFX-2”

My next post on humiliating and/or embarrassing things in video games was a no-brainer. If you’ve ever had the misfortune of playing “Final Fantasy X-2”, you’ll notice right away that it’s, to put it lightly, silly.  I’m not going to say too much against it, as I know it does have its fans, but I’m not one of them.  But, anything I had a problem with in the game pales in comparison to something I don’t think anyone in the world liked.

This game has…a massage mini game.  That can’t possibly be good, can it?  At one point in the game, Yuna, disguised as one of Leblanc’s lackeys, has to, for whatever reason, give Leblanc a massage.  And it’s just…very wrong.  It’s just…I’m not getting into the details.  Suffice it to say, I was trying to get through this as fast as possible because I really didn’t want anyone catching what I was doing.  And I’m not including a video of it, either, for fear of…you actually watching it.  But, if you want to check it out, I’m sure it can be found on Youtube, recorded by someone who knew not what they were subjecting the world to.

Seriously, though, what were they thinking?  How could they possibly have thought it appropriate to put such a thing in a video game?

How, I say.

  1. Ha, I had forgotten about that particular mini-game. I loved FFX-2, I found the gameplay some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a FF game, despite the many silly moments.

Honestly though, I found the concert at the very beginning of the game more humiliating than the massage.
