Another month gone by, another game crossed off the list…almost. It’s kind of funny how even when you make it your mission to play through a game, life and circumstance is still able to draw you away from it, and it can do so quite easily at that. My mission this month was to finally return to and finish Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure. Sadly, my adventure ended before the game’s did, but not because it wasn’t fun. Destiny: How The Alpha Totally Changed My Mind

I’ve never been happier to be wrong about a game. Never.

I was all set and ready to write-off Destiny as a game I wasn’t going to like. Aside from its universe and setting, it seemed like most everything else coming out about the game was giving me reason to balk. Borderlands-style open world? MMO mechanics? “Deadlier” multiplayer? It was sounding like a mash-up of several kinds of gameplay I personally dislike; twitch-shooter meets pointless wandering, meets busywork and level-grinding. So it was only that last bit of curiosity that got me to sign up for the Alpha.I was fully expecting it to confirm my suspicions, but that’s…not what happened. Titanfall

Anyone that follows my blog will know that Titanfall is a game that i am really looking forward too, so when i was told that a beta was to be released i was very keen on being a part of it. I was one of the fortunate people that managed to get onto it a couple of days before it became open, and since then it’s pretty much all that i’ve played.
The beta features two maps, Angel City, a small futuristic metropolis, which is the more close quarter of the two, and Fracture, which is quite a bit bigger, it still has a lot of close quarters combat but it is more suited suited to long range weapons than Angel City. Continue reading Titanfall
