FAQ’s
Q: What is the purpose of United We Game?
A: United We Game is a blog created to promote cooperation among game bloggers great and small. Our goal is to encourage and assist those who contribute to network among their peers and come together as a community to create something unique and incredible!
United We Game (aka UWG) is also here to help promote great writing about games. We don’t simply want writers to post here, we want to help them get the attention they deserve and see their own blogs thrive and grow to new heights of popularity and relevance!
Q: How is this done, and what’s in it for me?
A: Most of what we do here is meant to bring games bloggers together to accomplish together what we cannot alone. As a contributor, you become part of our UWG community. We regularly host community topics, discussions, and so forth in order to get everyone talking and generate collaborative efforts that otherwise would not happen. The more you participate and collaborate with us and other member of the community, the more you yourself will benefit.
In addition to that, we are always happy to put out a good word for our contributors where we can. Let us know when you have a new post up so we can let our followers on Facebook and Twitter know about it!
Q: Who can contribute to United We Game?
A: Anyone 18 years and older who blogs about games. This place is meant to promote game bloggers, so if games comprise at least 30% of your blog’s subject matter we’d love to have you.
Q: If I don’t have my own blog could I still contribute to United We Game?
A: Yes, Absolutely. Just keep in mind that you may not get as much out of this as someone looking to promote their own blog.
Q: If I want to contribute to United We Game will I have to commit to any sort a schedule or post requirement?
A: Not at all! Contributing to United We Game is for your benefit. You can post as much/often or as little/infrequently as you want, just know posting and participating with the rest of the community often will help you more than not doing so.
Q: I’m interested in contributing to United We Game, how do I get started?
A: Just email us at [email protected], or just leave a comment here expressing your interest and a way to contact you and we’ll get you started.
Q: Where can I find more details?
A: Talk to us directly, we’re happy to talk with you. (just email us at the address listed in the question directly above this one).
Rules and Acknowledgements
There aren’t many rules here but the following are important and MUST be adhered to.
1.) ALL images used on this site must have a Creative Commons attribution license, and the authors visibly credited.
The internet is a minefield of illegal usage suits if you aren’t careful, so we will not allow any posts using images that do not have a verifiable creative commons license. This just as much for your protection as it is for ours. If you don’t know where to get creative commons licensed images, just search “Flickr Creative Commons” in Google, that’s a good source. (the image at the top of the page is sourced from Flickr creative commons and correctly attributed, follow that example.)
If you have your own images you’d like to use, we’re sorry but we need to have that license. Make an account on Flickr and license your image accordingly if you want to use it here.
While images are not required for posts, if you choose to insert a header or “featured” image, please make sure it is at least 672 pixels wide. (And please link it as the featured image to the post.) This will ensure that your post will appear in the front page slideshow.
2.) DO NOT re-blog here. Anything posted here must be your own work and we must be able to tie it back to your own blog (again, we have no problem with you posting things from your own blog).
We will be checking each post submitted and will not allow any stolen content to be posted.
Like with the images this is just as much for your well-being as it is ours. Stealing content is taken very seriously these days, and even mistakenly using stolen content can result in major financial obligations for the poster and the site that hosted the post. Just don’t do it.
3.) Keep it SFW (Safe For Work)
We want to attract the widest audience possible and get you and your content all the attention we can, so we will not permit any explicit content here.
Acknowledgements
We hope it goes without saying that by posting here on United We Game you give us permission to display your post. If you do not want to see your content here just don’t post it.
Finally, if you have been posting here and one day decide that you don’t want to be affiliated with United We Game any more, all you have to do is ask and we will promptly remove any content you’ve posted here. We hope it never comes to that, but if it does we’ll wish you well all the same.
Hello, I’ve just wrote my first blog, and am still figuring the site out. Would you accept me, this sounds like an excellent idea and you guys seem to have a much better idea of what your doing than I do.
Thank you for your offer to contribute to United We Game. I will email my fellow admins, and we’ll get back to you.
While I can tell you what we’ve decided here, if you would like to, you can email us at [email protected] or leave us your email address in a comment, and we can contact you by email. (By the way, if you leave your email address in a comment, I can delete it once we have your contact info if you don’t want your contact info visible to others.)
