I don’t know why but there was a flood of new video content. With March now upon us, the release schedule has gotten somewhat bigger, with many big name titles hitting store shelves very soon. It’s a massive week for trailers and gameplay videos folks, so crank up that volume and enjoy!

It’s been a long time in the making but The Division is officially set to deploy next week and Ubisoft has been wasting no time in making sure people are aware of this game. After a wildly successful open beta test, there has been what seems to be an endless stream of trailers and content. This week is no different as there are three new trailers for you to check out including the launch trailer, and Ubisoft’s first year of content plans.

Nintendo also hit the scene hard this week with a new Nintendo Direct focused on what fans can expect on both the WiiU and 3DS for at least the first half of 2016. I say first half because no new information about The Legend of Zelda WiiU was given. Ultimately though, yes, there are still games coming out for the WiiU this year so the console isn’t dead quite yet.

I’ve also got new videos for Mortal Kombat XL, Battleborn, Star Fox Zero and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

It’s crazy to think that this is the last weekend in February. I know February is the shortest month of the year but for me, this month flew by. As it stands, the next couple months are shaping up to be stocked with great stuff to play which also means lots and lots of new trailers to keep us busy. So without further adieu, here is the brand new Round Up for this week along with a few teases. Lets get going!

Even though it was delayed out of it’s March release date, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is still only a short time away and Naughty Dog wants to remind you that this game is pulling out all the stops. This brand new story trailer is stuffed to the gills with characters and story moments, so if you want to stay pure before release, you may not want to watch.

Ubisoft continues to push The Division hype train right along releasing a short survival guide trailer and an impressive PC gameplay trailer showing off what the game looks like on a high powered machine. Just a short wait now, folks.

I’ve also got new videos for Killer Instinct, Dark Souls III, Fire Emblem Fates and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

The full list of videos await you after the jump…

Congrats everyone, you’ve made it to Saturday once more, which also means it is time for a brand new edition of the Saturday Video Round Up. There’s a lot of good stuff this week, if I do say so myself, as we’re starting to enter a busier time for releases. Here’s just a small sample of what’s on tap for this week in the Round Up.

Quantum Break has been causing quite a stir lately as Microsoft announced that the game will be cross-buy and cross-save compatible between the Xbox One and PC. Not only that, Remedy is throwing in copies of both Alan Wake games for people who pre-order and buy the upcoming game. Outside of this news, a brand new live action trailer has also been released showing lead character Jack Joyce being hunted by the evil Monarch Solutions.

The Division is another game that’s proving to be quite buzzworthy having just wrapped up a successful closed beta and then announcing a new open beta which kicks off this coming week. To celebrate the news, a brand new trailer is here showing off the four main factions players will be doing battle with as they try to wrestle control of New York away from them.

I’ve also got new videos for Hitman, Dark Souls III, Street Fighter V and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers! It’s a stuffed Round Up this week folks, so enjoy! We’ll see you in 2016 everyone!

What Are They Afraid Of?

“Do video game publishers know something that we don’t?” This question has been buzzing around my head ever since I learned about Square-Enix’s plan to retroactively make the upcoming Hitman game into an episodic “experience.” At first I thought it was just another money-grubbing move by a major publisher, but then I watched January 28th’s episode of Jim Sterling’s “The Jimquisition“. In Sterling states that, according his sources, Square Enix and some other major publishers entered this current generation with no faith in the console market. They were convinced that games released on consoles were all going to perform poorly, and that microtransactions, DLC, and the PC market in general were going to be the future. Now regardless of how you may personally feel about Mr. Sterling or the news he reports, certain publishers’ actions in the recent past begin to make sense if this does indeed prove to be true. After all, why go through all that trouble and bad press if you didn’t think you had something to gain? Still, one has to wonder where they got the idea that consoles were a bad market in the first place. Continue reading What Are They Afraid Of?

Another week has come to an end, which means it is time for a brand new edition of the Video Round Up, bringing you the best trailers and gameplay from the past week. As we start to head into February and releases start to pick up, the marketing divisions are in full swing so there are a lot of new stuff to get to. Here’s just a taste of what you can expect below.

With many fighting games like Killer Instinct or Mortal Kombat X placing a spotlight on story, Capcom is planning to follow suit in Street Fighter V. A new trailer this week covers the cinematic story elements coming into their upcoming fighter, which should finally provide answers to both new and longtime fans alike.

With just a short wait remaining before release, Techland has been cranking out video after video for Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition. This week is no different as a pair of videos introduce you to a few of the interesting locations to be discovered in the new area of The Following, which the other shows you some of the horrific new zombie types that are waiting to rip you to shreds.

I’ve also got new videos for Song of the Sea, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Homefront: The Revolution and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers! It’s a stuffed Round Up this week folks, so enjoy! We’ll see you in 2016 everyone!

Stay Tuned for the Next Exciting Episode!

It may be a new year, but it seems that AAA publishers are just as determined as ever to show the depth of their contempt for their paying customers. Okay, maybe that’s a bit harsh but after everything we’ve seen from the likes of Konami, Activision, and Square Enix last year, one might have cause to feel like there’s a little bit more going on here than companies simply trying to stay profitable. This time however, my focus is entirely on Square Enix (hereafter referred to as “Square”) and their distressing interest in making their games into “truly episodic AAA [gaming] experience[s]”.
