Which game capture system is right for me?

Um….

Okay, so maybe that’s a case of “one of these things is not like the other.” But when it came to me picking a game capture device, it really was a formidable (if not necessarily life-altering) decision. I recently covered this on United We Game in the post here. I then followed it up with two more posts (listed below) about actually using the device. All around, the Elgato was right for me. If you’re into game capturing, which device is right for you?

I wish I had chosen the Elgato. I didn’t know any capture devices did older consoles, plus, since the LGP advertised its ability to record consoles that only had composite, such as the Wii, I thought that meant it would plug into TVs with only composite. I learned recently that was not the case, and it was mere coincidence I had chosen the HDMI TV to record games. After looking into recording games on my older TV where the majority of consoles reside, I realized that was not possible. Anyway, I might consider getting the Elgato one day so I can record my older consoles. And the LGP will continue to work great with my newer consoles, I suppose.

Nice! I’m curious to hear your experience with this. It’s what we use to capture at work, and I really love it. I might get one for personal use at some point!
