I never ended up doing anything with the dyes, but I did mess with the clothes a lot. I agree that much of it was silly looking. I tried to get better clothes for Dagran and Syrenne to cover up all that skin, but everyone else looked better in their original outfits. Then, I’d change their clothes to improve their stats, and then they’d just look goofy in their new garbs. And it frustrated me the game let us choose items another character had equipped, so I’d often spend all this time upgrading everyone, only to find I had undone everything by basically transferring one shirt to each person in turn.

I have one myself. It’s so pretty. I was one of those who preordered Skyward Sword so I could get the controller and music CD. After I got it, the prices for the set doubled on Amazon, so I’m glad I got it when I did. I usually miss out on limited edition products, so I was not going to miss out on this. Not when the Zelda 25th anniversary was involved.

But I agree with you about the issue of “choice” in the game, because you’re right, there really wasn’t any. Like you, I put a lot of time into considering the “choices” that had to be made in the game, but was sad to see that they didn’t mean anything in the end. (Also, I hated that the “plot” with the ghostly tiger didn’t go anywhere!)

I spend way too much time playing around with clothing and dyes in the game. I really liked that there was so much choice there! (Though many of the items looked utterly ridiculous, Dagran’s chaps included.) Considering that, I certainly would have traded having actual choice in the game’s story over playing dress-up.
