(Once I had done a bunch of meandering to various planets once, I didn’t feel the need to revisit them with different Shepards.) It’s controls were tolerable but not good (at least they weren’t for me), so I understand people’s generally feelings of derision towards it.

I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the sweeping landscape of Bioware RPGs than with Mass Effect. You’re so right about its cast — they were more than just characters on screen, they each had individual lives that you could choose to take part in or ignore. I had never had so much choice in a game before, and it was so fun crafting your my through its universe and coming to terms with my decisions. A favorite, always.

I will grant that trying to drive while in the zoomed-in perspective was a pain, there was no sense of where the vehicle was from that viewpoint.

My unresponsive controls come when I aim and fire. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out…and then it does!

The mako is strange. I just tap that left stick ever so slightl- oops, I’m in the drink! Seriously, it’s just like that. That’s my experience so far and just completed the Feros mission.

Wait, sensitive controls? The complaints I’ve always heard were that it was as unresponsive as a brick. Are you playing the PC version?

Stupid thing might as well have been made out of cardboard! :D
