And I was one of them. I hope next time I play, maybe I’ll have more luck. It’s a shame to have the cut scenes ruined in a game that should have had great cut scenes. I’m happy, at least, that “Up Your Arsenal” and “A Crack in Time” worked fine. Even more reasons why they’re my favorites of the series.

As for me, I guess I’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to sound glitches as I’ve only run into isolated problems here and there so far.

The first time I tried this really tough boss battle, there was no music at all, and since I never did it before, I thought maybe it’s supposed to be that way. It’s funny because the glitch gave the battle a much different feel. The creature I was fighting felt even more sinister with no music playing and just the usual sound effects. Then, I got killed, and all the times I tried to beat it afterward, there was music. Weird.

The most common audio problem I’ve run into with games seems to involve background music. Honestly, I often don’t even notice most background music when I’m fully focused on playing, but when it’s not there, I notice. This happened repeatedly in Red Dead Redemption and Dragon Age II. (Maybe not coincidentally, both are used copies.) Like, I’d be happily playing, and then I’d notice that there was no music during a particular scene or battle. I knew there was music because I’d played the sections before, so it was strange to just hear the sound effects only.

Thankfully, I’ve never run into any voice issues or anything like what you described in Super Mario Sunshine. I can only imagine the awful sound that emanated from your TV.
