Yeah, competition is great and all and I won’t deny that I really enjoy it sometimes, but a lot of the time the people you meet online can be really toxic, as I’m sure you know (probably much better than I)! That’s probably why I mostly prefer singleplayer, because I can’t be bothered to deal with people like that sometimes and I like being free to approach a game however I like. But it’s also really nice being able to play together with people and the more relaxed atmosphere that coop games engender is something that I love.
Those are both great games! I hope you guys had fun! :D

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve killed and been killed by friends! For a coop game, it sure does seem to encourage a lot of frustration. :D

My boyfriend and I have played PvP together, but I don’t think it was even half as relationship-strengthening as playing coop and having to really work together.
We haven’t played Borderlands 2 together yet, but I’ve heard that’s a great one to play with other people. I guess it’s time for us to have a gaming date again soon! :D

Yeah, there’s something about sharing a gaming experience with someone that’s really special and if it’s someone you enjoy spending time with, it’s usually a lot of fun.
I have played some online coop, but mainly with strangers unfortunately. Luckily that’s been changing for me too recently. I haven’t touched my Xbox 360 in a while, but I’d love to hang out with you online when we get a chance. I’m looking forward to finding something to play with you! :)

I’ve been really enjoying beating up the computer with some friends in Age of Empires 2 HD and I think tonight is going to be spent playing one of my all time favorite co-op games – Left for Dead 2. Great piece. Glad to know I’m not the only one who loves taking a step back from competition but not quite going it alone :)

I think it actually has strengthened our relationship, team building, problem-solving skills, and has fostered a better understanding of how the other thinks. We are playing Borderlands 2 now, but we’ve played Portal 2 together, the first Borderlands, and countless other games. Great article! :)

Before I invested in console gaming and even now, playing with other people has always been a fun experience. Finding something to share is just an amazing thing to have. I also like the aspect of working together and having fun. What’s also good about online co-op, as I have discovered in the last month or so, it’s also a good way to play with people you’ve met and made friends with online. Maybe miles and countries may separate us, but having a game you both own and has a co-op feature is the best way to hang out and have fun…until the day comes when you can do that in person!
