But you’re right, though the timing isn’t right for me to beat the game now, maybe the time will be right in the future. I’m more tempted now to start Echoes than when I first wrote this post. Though knowing that it might be harder than the original is a little daunting. But, I’m in no hurry with these games, so maybe that’s okay? I don’t know.

I, too, couldn’t beat the final boss at first, and it wasn’t until several years later that I returned to the game and was able to do it. It is definitely one of the harder games out there (and Echoes was even harder for me, though I didn’t find Corruption to be that difficult). I really feel like playing the series again myself some time, though. But, I still don’t think I’m ready to try hard mode yet.

(Then again, I’m just bad at garnering collectibles in games, generally, so it’s not that much of a stretch for me.) When I’m feeling more motivated, I’ll have to go back and get what I can — I’m sure it’ll go a long way in finally beating Prime. Thanks. :)

Also, thanks for your notes on Echoes – lots to keep in mind there if/when I get to that game.

Constantly alternating between the light and dark worlds of Planet Aether, the game’s setting, was a bit daunting. And the fact that you had to scurry towards light crystals in the dark worlds just to avoid gradual damage was annoying. But same with the first prime, you have to scan everything to understand the storyline. Playing through the game also involved finding all the items and secrets as well as scanning everything to unlock the gallery in the main menu. Echoes also introduced multiplayer mode in the Metroid series. The new suits were used as other players you choose in multiplayer mode each with their own capabilities. But overall, the Metroid Prime series was challenging. Don’t give up. Maybe you need to find more energy tanks to defeat the boss at the end of part one.
